World’s most influential Mixed Martial Arts fighter showcased self-defence techniques for UAE fitness enthusiasts
Dubai, UAE, June 27, 2015: Al Ahli Holding Group (AAHG), a UAE-based multi-diversified international conglomerate provided Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fans from the region with an exclusive opportunity to meet with the world’s most influential figure in the history of MMA – Royce Gracie.
Popularly known as ‘Muhammad Ali of MMA’, Royce Gracie was hosted by AAHG’s subsidiary Gold’s Gym UAE, in co-ordination with TK Promotions. Gracie led a masterclass at Gold’s Gym’s Al Barsha Mall, showcasing some basic self-defense techniques for audiences, who watched the retired fighter’s moves in rapt attention.

The excitement about the legendary Royce Gracie returning on ground had been rife for a while now, with our members eager to be part of the masterclass. The event was eventually much bigger and better, with Royce Gracie engaging audiences in an hour long masterclass, not only displaying his best self defence moves but also training participants one-on-one during the session,” said Mr Nitesh Seebran, COO, Gold’s Gym UAE.
The audiences for the first time ever also got a chance to speak to Royce about becoming the only man to defeat four opponents in one UFC event in one evening. With this victory, Royce had become the man who had the longest MMA fight in modern history lasting two hours.
Speaking about the growing interest in Mixed Martial Arts in the region, Royce Gracie said at the event that he is quite excited to partner with Gold’s Gym, expressing interest to further enhance the partnership by providing more training sessions for all enthusiasts. He said that he was thrilled at learning that MMA is being taught at schools in the region, a trend which he hasn’t seen in any part of the world.
Gold’s Gym UAE has always pioneered in bringing interesting techniques that have been renowned internationally, to the UAE. Royce Gracie hosted quite an insightful training session exposing Gold’s Gym members to a new form of fitness and regime.
