Muslim Comic book superhero Ms. Marvel to be released in UAE

Since its launch in 2013, the comic book’s story line has been widely praised for offering something new to pop-culture portrayals of Muslims.

Ms. Marvel, the first ever Muslim superhero, is landing in the UAE.
The New York Times best selling series will be released here this week in both English and Arabic. The Ms. Marvel comic book narrates the story of a teenage Pakistani-American, Kamala Khan, who is boggled by her shapeshifting abilities, and subsequently discovers that she has superhuman genes.
Since its launch in 2013, the comic book’s story line has been widely praised for offering something new to pop-culture portrayals of Muslims. With over 1.2 million of the UAE’s population comprising of Pakistani nationals, the origin of this fictional character is sure to add an even higher appeal to readers in this part of the world.
