Al Ahli Holding Group to invest in Green City
Buys franchise rights to 6 Manila food brands
Al Ahli Holding Group (AAHG), a United Arab Emirates-based multi-billion dollar international conglomerate, announced Wednesday that it will invest in Clark Green City and at the same time build clusters of Manila-themed restaurants in the Gulf Area.
Mohammed Khammas, CEO of AAHG, said that the group has secured the exclusive franchise rights to six brands–Binalot, Jay-J’s, Fruitas Group, Mochi Crème, Zagu and Fiftea.
These brands will be offered in Little Manila-themed restaurants in the Gulf region to cater to the 2.5 million Filipino expat community there.
These clusters of restaurants will also be introduced in different countries.
AAHG will partner with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in developing the Green City. The final memorandum of agreement will be signed soon.
BCDA chief Arnel Casanova meanwhile said that AAHG is interested in investing in the tourism, entertainment and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) sectors.
The Little Manila theme retail concept is expected to open its first outlet in Dubai by the end of the first quarter this year.
Recently, AAHG announced the launch of Asia Pop Comic Con — an international comic and pop culture convention that is scheduled to take place in Manila this year. The announcement has reportedly been received by “overwhelming” response.
The Asia Pop Comic Con will be the first in a series of big-ticket events planned by AAHG as part of its longterm strategic investment project in Philippines.
With around 5,000 employees, AAHG is headquartered in the UAE, with representative offices across 20 countries globally.
